UV LED Research Tools
PearlLab™
UV LED research tools bring the advantages of Digital Disinfection™ into the lab, providing precise, controllable UV output for advanced testing and validation. Unlike traditional mercury-based systems, UV LEDs offer instant intensity, stable output and flexible wavelength selection, enabling more accurate and repeatable results.
The PearlLab range supports applications such as dose-response studies, validation and system development, with two distinct platforms designed to suit different research needs.
Each bacterium, virus or spore has a unique sensitivity to ultraviolet light. Accurately determining exposure times and wavelengths is a critical step in understanding microbial behaviour for any researcher or system designer. UV LED research tools, including collimated beam devices, play an essential role by providing a standardised and repeatable method for measuring UV exposure.
Historically, these systems relied on mercury-based lamps, resulting in equipment that was expensive, bulky, difficult to operate and potentially hazardous. The PearlLab Beam is a compact collimated beam device that uses UV LEDs to emit radiation in the germicidal range. Its small footprint and ease of use enable a consistent, homogenised UV delivery system that can be operated on a benchtop in both laboratory and field environments. The PearlLab Beam delivers narrow-band emission and is available in a range of individually addressable wavelengths without the need for filters. With full UV-C intensity reached in under 10 milliseconds, a shutter is not required.
